Something about Big Data and its application in life

Today, the continuous development of science and technology, the advent of the Internet and the telephone equipment, personal computer, has brought tremendous changes in all areas of life.
In the era of the IoT2 with the application and extensive integration of mobile devices such as mobile phones, automobiles, and machinery industry contributes to the creation and transfer of data, leading to the explosion of data can be collected.
In continuous data streams are generated every second, the Big glossary Data (data) is used to refer to the huge data sets, mostly without the structure, is collected from many different sources. However, Big Data back containing a lot of valuable information that if extracted successfully, it will help a lot for business, scientific research, predicted the impending epidemic arose and even determining traffic conditions from time real time. In scientific research, Big Data is bringing researchers the opportunity to approach and solve perplexing problems that many previously not possible or very difficult to implement. Through this article, the author wants to introduce the concept of Big Data are increasingly common and the application of it in this life.
A.  Definition and characteristics of Big Data
Big Data is a term used to describe the data sets are very large in size, the ability to grow fast, and very hard to collect, store, manage and analyze with statistical tools or database applications. According to a report by IDC, in 2011, the amount of data being created in the world is 1.8 ZB3, rising nearly 9 times in just 5 years. The size of the Big Data is ever on the increase, and in 2012, it can range from a few tens of terabytes to petabyte (1 petabyte = 1024 terabytes) only for a set of data only. There are 4 main characteristics used title description Big Data including the amount (volume), the speed (velocity), diversity (variety), and the value (value):
Capacity (Volume): the capacity of the Big Data is growing stronger every day. According to Intel's documentation on 9/2013, for every 11 seconds, 1 petabyte of data being created around the world, the equivalent of a 13-year-long HD video.
The speed (velocity): is the speed at which data is analyzed by the company to provide a better user experience. With the advent of the techniques, tools, application hosting, data sources are continuously supplemented with fast speed.
Diversity (variety): data is collected from many different sources, from the sensor equipment, mobile devices, social network etc..
The value (value): is the process of extracting the tremendous value that is implicit in the huge data sets. This is the most important characteristic of the information extracted from the data analysis can be used in a variety of fields such as business, science, medical research, physics ...
B. A couple of Big Data applications in daily life
Big Data is increasingly being used in the field, organized with many different purposes. For example, the Big companies use Data to understand consumer behavior of customers from that give the personalized shopping suggestions for each object based on the information collected from them (eBay, Facebook, Google ...). Scientific research institutions use Big Data to find out what new scientific discovery for humanity, for example the construction of the human genome, or as the study in Hadron Collider of the European nuclear research organization Europe, if the results obtained from the sensor in the air are recorded in full, the data flow will become extremely large, could reach 150 million petabytes each year, 200 times in comparison with all the other data source on the world pooled.
With the increasing popularity of information technology, Big Data theme is getting a lot of attention from researchers. Hsinchu & Chiang (2012) has analyzed the Big Data applications in the field of electronic commerce, electronic government, science and technology, healthcare. O'Leary (2013) refers to the application of large data in the management of road infrastructure. When the Sloan Digital Sky Survey, a space observatory in New Mexico, began operations in 2000, after a few weeks it was collecting the data is larger than the total amount of data that astronomy has been collected in the past, about 200 GB each night and currently, the total reached more than 140 terabytes.
in the trade sector, in particular, the analysis of a large amount of data also contributed to the improvement and optimization of the decision-making process, minimize risk, create value for the business. By harnessing big data analysis platform, businesses can explore the tremendous latent value, through the viewport about customer purchase behavior. For example, the business companies through the network can monitor to know not only the information, such as what customers buy but also know they see these items, they see what, what to do each time they visit the site or the level of the customers affected by the promotion policy or comments from other customers; Since then discovered to be the point of these customer groups.
Can say, Big Data, though recently mentioned in recent times, more and more are still to be studied and widely used in many other areas. However, within the framework of this article, the author is just a summary of characteristics and applications of the Big Data in fields. In the next article, the author will go in-depth analysis more carefully the comments left on the afternoon of the benefits and limitations of Big Data.
